The UK is made up of four countries: - England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Each country has its own unique landscape, culture and language. English is of course the dominant and 'official' language of the UK and is spoken widely and freely, being the 'lingua franca' of all four nations.
Why is Wales such a great place to learn English?

Well, firstly, the people are friendly, talkative and love to chat. The great Irish writer George Bernard Shaw compared the Welsh to the Italians in their spirit and cultural aspirations. It's not surprising therefore that Wales can boast one of the leading Opera Companies in the world, as well as the World's newest and finest Opera House in Cardiff Bay. Like the Italians, the Welsh love to sing and act and some of the more famous sons and daughters of Wales would include:

TOM JONES * SHIRLEY BASSEY * SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS * RICHARD BURTON * CATHERNE ZETA JONES * CERYS MATTHEWS AND CATATONIA *
THE STEREOPHONICS * THE MANIC STREET PREACHERS * THE LOST PROPHETS

to name but a few.

Wales is a beautiful place, a richly sculpted landscape that often surprises the visitor with its varied topography crammed into to such a tiny country. Wales has the highest density of medieval castles of any country in the world

It has some of the finest beaches in the UK, arguably in Europe - with an impressive range of Blue Flag Beaches and 'wild beaches' ideal for water sports.

The Welsh landscape has been described as 'magical and daunting'
