ENGLISH COURSES

Q - Where is Albany Language School?

A - Our 'season' runs from June to October, though we can offer clients 'host family tuition' ALL YEAR ROUND. We hire our teaching facility during the season, so the location of the school may change. It might be at the 'Parade' for example or it could be in the City Centre. We work with groups as small as a group of two, up to fifty and beyond, though we often collaborate with other professional schools in Wales and around the world, often acting as an agent in order to ensure that our clients are always well catered for, should we not be able to match the client's requirements ourselves.

Q - What is host family tuition?

A - This means that our English students have the opportunity to live for a limited period of time (usually up to a month) with an English teacher and his or her family, ensuring that the client has the possibility of expressing their English in a totally authentic setting, learning English at the teacher's home, as an alternative to learning at school.

Profile - One of our HOST FAMILY tutors is David Knight. David is a 34 year-old University graduate, TEFL qualified teacher with a PGCE. David's home is located in South Cardiff, fifty metres from a bus stop and ten minutes from the City Centre. His home, which he shares with his wife Helena, is a large, comfortable, traditional house, which has a spacious garden in which students can relax and even do their homework!
All host teachers have computer/ Internet facility at their homes, available to the student.

Cardiff is a wonderful city in which to study and part of your 'host family tuition programme' would include accompanied visits to parts of the City and surrounding countryside including many cultural centres, rich museums and heritage locations, beautiful and mystical castles, as well as to the beach, countryside and mountains.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES

Q - Where can I do my foreign language course?

A - We teach some of the Romance Languages, that's to say, French, Spanish and Italian. You can study for them in Cardiff, in the UK, or in exceptional circumstances in other towns where the demand justifies us organising a course there. Our courses are INTENSIVE and will typically run over a short period of time, from a weekend to a month.

We are currently organising INTENSIVE LANGUAGE COURSES in the home country, i.e. French in France, in the lovely Alpine town of Annecy; Spanish in Andalusia; and Italian in the North of Italy. Contact Marc Gilot through our e mail.

TRANSLATIONS

Q - Can documents of any size be submitted for translation?

A - Yes. We will consider translating anything from a restaurant menu to a University thesis, providing that the contents are legally, ethically and morally sound that is.

EDITING

Q - What documents do you edit and in what languages?

A - Our Editing service is available in English only and we specialise in editing University theses at graduate level,
M Phil and Ph d. The editing fee will be based on the length of the work and operates on the basis of $15 U.S. per thousand words.

WORK PLACEMENTS

Q - Can you arrange work experience placements around the world?

A - We only offer work experience placements in the UK.
